Career Comeback Program

Redesign your next chapter, then prove it in the real world.

The Fair Path Project’s Career Comeback Program helps professionals architect roles that fit their life, values, and strengths; then execute those roles through vetted nonprofit and mission-aligned partnerships. This is career reinvention with purpose and proof.

New York Skyline

Come back from workplace abuse with a flagship “live lab” for career redesign

At Fair Path Project, we empower individuals through our Career Comeback Program, where participants not only design their ideal roles but also bring them to life in collaboration with vetted nonprofits and mission-driven organizations. Unlike most career programs that stop at providing clarity, our unique approach allows participants to build a proof-of-concept portfolio that showcases their value, outcomes, and leadership. This program fosters a supportive environment that encourages on-the-ground execution and growth, enabling individuals to leave with a compelling narrative, robust evidence, and the momentum needed to transition into their next role, client, or entirely new direction; without waiting for traditional hiring systems to validate their worth.

Three tiers, one core experience

1

Executive Track

For senior leaders and executives, this track offers strategic, high-impact roles with mission-aligned organizations. Participants apply their experience through advising, strategy, board support, and mentorship, producing visible outcomes that reinforce leadership credibility and support next-chapter opportunities.

2

Management Track

Designed for managers and directors, this track centers on leading initiatives and strengthening operations within mission-focused organizations. Participants deliver measurable results while building confidence, scope, and readiness for aligned advancement and expanded leadership responsibility.

3

Professional Track

This track supports individual contributors and specialists seeking project-based, mission-aligned experience. Participants apply their skills in focused roles that produce real deliverables, close perceived gaps, and build a current, outcomes-driven portfolio for future opportunities.

Plan Design

This phase guides participants through a structured role-design process that transforms insight into clarity. You will reframe your career story to turn gaps into a compelling narrative, define your ideal role through intentional job architecture, and crystallize a clear value proposition that highlights your core contributions. You will also establish practical work design parameters, including structure, hours, goals, and values. The outcome is concrete documentation and specificity—a detailed role design with an impact vision.

Execution

Participants execute high-impact work in clearly scoped roles with Fair Path Project–vetted nonprofits or mission-aligned organizations. This hands-on experience produces tangible deliverables, measurable outcomes, and testimonials while building a proof-of-concept portfolio that demonstrates leadership and value. Executive-level roles may include strategic advising, board development, planning, or mentorship; experience that can be leveraged into your next role or opportunity.

Deliverables

During this phase, your work turns into visibility and momentum. Participants leave with a personalized case study, an outcomes-driven portfolio, updated references, and testimonials that support their new professional positioning. We help refine resumes to address gaps and counter unfair hiring bias, while providing media exposure, a stronger social presence, and expanded networks to support confident next steps.

How it Works

One-time   “Pay What You Can”  contribution

For our first pilot program, we use a one-time contribution model to ensure access and sustainability, grounded in equity, flexibility, and shared commitment. Participants pay once for the full program. Contributions are based on current financial reality, and no one is turned away due to cost. Higher contributions help subsidize access for others.

Executive Track: $750

Management Track: $500

Professional Track: $250
